August at Meadowvale Parks

[Bird Brain]

Hi everyone.  So far this month:

Lake Wabukayne - Belted Kingfisher and Catbird.

Lake Aquitaine - (this afternoon) Turkey Vulture circling above West end of lake.

Maplewood Park - Downy Woodpecker x 2 (males)

Otherwise, pretty much "the usual" - Canada Geese, Cardinals, Goldfinches, House Sparrows, Mallards, Mourning Doves, Robins, RWBB's, Starlings.

Butterflies - Cabbage White, Clouded Sulphur and Eastern Tiger Swallowtail.  

Cottontail Rabbits.

Update: on the weekend, there were 2 Belted Kingfishers flying around Lake Wabukayne, whirring up a storm!  Couldn't get a good enough look at them to identify gender.
