Just returned from a family holiday near Tobermory. Although birding was not the focus, and it was difficult (sometimes dangerous!) to look for birds whilst watching my feet on the rugged terrain of the Bruce Trail, I did manage to enjoy a few treats...
A Piping Plover - my favourite bird from the trip! Although the babies have left their nesting areas, this little Lifer was still hanging around the north end of Sauble Beach.

At least two dozen Brewer's Blackbirds were easily found right on the side of Hwy 6 north of Wiarton. Another lifer!

There were always two Sandhill Cranes in a field near our cottage rental every morning and evening as I drove by, but one day there were four!

Ok this is for my Raptor Watching friends. There are 60 Turkey Vultures in this photo, at least 20 more in the air behind me and another 20 perched on buildings and fence posts. The big attraction? A garbage dump of course!
