Today, we were birding Earl Bales Park (Bathurst/Sheppard area). At the stormwater treatment ponds, we had a flock of 37 Chimney Swifts flying over us. It was a beautiful sight. Other birds of note at the pond were:  a Belted Kingfisher and 14 cormorants.

Sounds wonderful! Were they circling around as if they might be foraging, or were they flying straight over? I wonder whether there might be a fall roost around there.

Have you seen a roost? Please email me at rebecca.torontoswifts@gmail.com but don\'t post the location! This species is threatened and relies on urban habitat.
