I went to the harbour on my way home to look for Snowy Owls. No luck with the owls, but I did see our national animal foraging on the shoreline. I thought they would be hibernating by now, but sadly I don't know much about beavers.

Beavers don't hibernate. If the water freezes over completely they will stay in their lodge and only leave to swim under the ice to collect food they left there.
