Amazing, makes me want to spray paint my sparrows! Was it in a public area?

Yes, it is a public area (Oakville Arkendo trail)

It's a long trip for an old guy but I'll wait until the weather improves and I'll head out there on a day when I can also visit Col Sam in hopes of seeing my first snowy owl in several years. Thanks for posting and for replying to my location query.

Beautiful bird in a lovely set. very well taken.

I have been following this bird on internet for a while. After seeing your photos I couldn't resist anymore - so I went there today at my lunch break. During my stay of 45 minutes he made three appearances. One of the keen observers mentioned that he might have an injured leg. Later I looked at the photos I took and he does appear to have some kind of discomfort in his right leg. Either he is sitting flat on the ground or right leg lifted up (see pic below). I hope it is nothing serious and he recovers in time.

Nice shots! Something funny I read on facebook is that people are calling this the "tainted bunting".

It is a beautiful bird that I also don't want to miss. I were trying 4 times and finally met him at the fifth.
