Found an adult male Scarlet Tanager in the bushes right next to the sidewalk at the bottom corner of  Wolverleigh and Earl Beatty school. Injury is unclear, but appears to be some sort of trauma. If any experienced birder out there has any advice as to what to do about the situation, or wishes to come and help the bird, that would be great.

when in doubt, call 311. they'll direct the call.

you can put the bird into a shoebox that has some airholes. will protect it from cats and let it recover.

The bird we found was a Scarlet Tanager. Is this the one you have?

oh god.
i found an injured indigo bunting. i thought maybe you didn't know what kind of bird it was. i found it on the west corner of the school. i didn't see any shrubbery.

someone should contact that school. don't know why 2 birds would be injured there.

where exactly was the tanager?

and the bunting made it safely.

This is unusual... The Tanager was in the bushes at the southwest corner of the school, by the enclosed playground with the wood chips and the main entrance.

the bunting was right there as well.
there must be glass there that caused the problems/injuries

i looked around that corner at 7:30 AM yesterday. wanted to do it before school started so i didn't have the cops after me. also played a tanager song. nothing.

so who knows.

the bunting, tho, is apparently still alive. so something good came out of it
