After my experience with the Snowy Egret at Windermere Basin I'm thinking it's time to get a Spotting Scope. I've done some looking around on the net and found these two that look interesting;

Any advice regarding these scopes or scopes in general would be appreciated.

I don't have much experience with scopes but with the rapid development of superzoom cameras, I'm kinda giving scopes a pass.  They're far too pricey for me and for the same (and often much less) money I can get cameras with which I can also take pictures.  I'm not saying the superzooms are as good or ever will be, but it's something to think about.

The selection of a spotting scope in the current optics market is indeed vast compared to the '80s when there were a grand total of 3 choices available.  The following articles might be helpful in understanding what to look for in your quest:

Good birding and photography.
