As usual, I spotted this Wren just as it finished popping up on a dead log and snacking, after which it promptly dove back down into a tangle of goldenrod and dead logs.
This was at Riverwood Conservancy, along the Credit River in Mississauga.
There are definitely House Wrens in this specific meadow area, including a pair that nested nearby earlier in the summer.
Is this also a House Wren? It seemed more Winter Wren-like but that might well be my migration-inspired imagination.
Any opinions on its identity would be appreciated so I don't have to submit it to eBird as wren, sp.
Sorry that it's another of my fabulous shots. A good lens does not make a good photographer...
