Is it a Purple Finch?

I have yet to see a Purple Finch, so I'm hoping this is a male Purple Finch.  This one landed at my backyard feeder this morning.

That's a very interesting candidate for either species.  The colour spectrum appears to be right...it is more rosy / raspberry than a House Finch.  But the cheek/ear patch seems more House Finch than Purple.  However there is no dark side streaking which is consistent with Purple.  I'm not 100% sure but there are more features pointing towards Purple than House.

This one also came in at the same time.  Looks different than the House Finches that are usually around.

Now that is 100% a female Purple Finch.  I'm fairly certain that first one is a Purple Finch as well...the lack of side streaking is a strong indication.
