The male Harlequin is still at Arkendo area. At 12:09 today, I saw it with a flock of Goldeneye. The waves were so large the ducks were hidden more than visible and it was so far out I couldn't see it through a 600mm lens, only when I zoomed the photos on the computer at home. It may be the bird from Col Sam in previous  years?

For those not familiar, Arkendo Park is just one block west of Winston Churchill Blvd, south of the QEW. Follow Winston till it ends at Lakeshore. Turn right and almost immediately left onto Arkendo. Only street parking, with a 3-hour (not posted, all of Mississauga) limit. The entrances to the park at are the corner of Lakeshore and Arkendo, or at the very end of Arkendo where the road forms a loop for the snowplows to turn around. Walk a few hundred metres to the lake front. You'd need a spotting scope or  strong binoculars to see the bird if it is as far out as it was today.

Also in the park was a large flock of mostly young Cedar Waxwings, but they were quickly stripping the trees, vines and shrubs of fruit and they will likely be gone by Thursday. The resident Carolina Wrens were around.
