Marie Curtis Park Northeastern Coyote Pack And Coydog

I took a walk at Marie Curtis Park yesterday and saw a pack of Northeastern Coyotes and a Coydog in the day.  The Coydog was separated from the Northeastern Coyotes and the Northeastern Coyotes were roaming around together enjoying themselves.  I then saw the Northeastern Coyotes at the Arsenal Lands.  The Northeastern Coyotes would then trot off whenever I would approach to get a better look.  It was an amazing sight.

Interesting sighting! How many coyotes?
We saw two coyotes and what could be called a coydog last Feb at Col Sam.

There was 1 Coydog and I do believe there was 4 Northeastern Coyotes.  The Coydog and the Northeastern Coyotes you saw at Colonel Sam Smith Park were more than likely the same pack, which live in the area.  The Ontario Ministry Of Natural Resources put collars on the Northeastern Coyotes and Coydog to track their movements.

What do coy dogs look like ?

Hi Axeman.  Coydogs have an erect tail, are bigger, and are a different colour.  The Coydog at Marie Curtis Park is more reddish and white in colour.  The Coydog at Marie Curtis Park looks to have a fair amount of Husky for sure, with maybe a little German Sheppard inside.

I guess that's the thing....except for the fact that the blonde animal is with other coyotes...I wouldn't have identified it as even part coyote...I'd guess purely mixed breed dog...

I have an intact dogue de bordeaux....I wonder what the coyotes around here will look like in a few years lol.

Arsenal Lands

Is it true that there is radioactive waste buried there and that the land there is polluted?

Hi dawnofthewolf.  The Arsenal Lands was a small arms manufacturing facility and testing range.  There is lead in the soil by the former firing range and metals and organic compounds in the soil.
