Went out west yesterday to see the Western Grebe. The grebe was too far out to grab even a photo but, with my scope, I did see it. At Bronte Harbour, saw Red-necked grebes and a Horned Grebe.

How can you tell that the Horned Grebe  is a female?
BTW we were at Saddington yesterday and saw the Western Grebe. We saw Horned and Red-necked there as well.

Well,....actually I don't think you can, at least not from a photo. I mistakenly labelled as a female but it should be a non-breeding.  I've need to made that change so others are not misled, thanks, JW.
