Good morning all!!!!

I had a question from a friend regarding a Fox Sparrow.  Are they always a ground feeding bird?  I mentioned that depending on food availability, weather etc., and there are other ground feeding birds such as doves, other sparrows etc.

There was also a query regarding if an Ovenbird would come to a feeder.  Again, I said depending on weather, location, time of year etc, it might be possible.  OB is mostly an insect eater?, but they might be attracted to suet if they were caught in weather like the last few days, although I think it is too early for them.  I am thinking it may be a Carolina Wren they saw, but do not know details.

Thank you for any info given.

Good birding, spring will be here one of these days!!!!!

Both are primarily insectivorous ground feeders, so having them visit a seed feeder is unlikely. Anything is possible in migration though, especially when conditions are tough. I watched a Phoebe snatching bugs off a beach on Sunday.
