Two years ago the story of the ravens nesting on one of those smokestacks near the Leslie Spit was in all the major news outlets. Can anyone tell me if there were ravens nesting anywhere down there last year? And/or this year yet?

Thanks. I'm not really sure which site they were at.

i was wrong. the building that's east of their nesting site (on Unwin Rd) is under construction. in previous years, they'd nest on the twin chimney towers on Unwin.
today, i saw 1 raven circling over Marina Rd and may have heard a 2nd raven.

I have been tracking them and they nested last year and the previous year on the Portlands Energy Centre stacks. This year they built multiple nests on both stacks and for a brief time there was one on a nest on the west stack. They have abandoned nesting on the stacks as far as we can make out and it appears that they are nesting west of Portlands (Hearn Station?). They have been observed by Portlands staff carrying food past the north side of the building heading west. They are flying at a much lower level than they have in past years which makes one wonder if their nest is in a tree? If anyone sees or knows anything, could you post please? Thanks. Ian.

i can't comment about their nesting site, but i've heard them low from the following points:
east shore area near the Spit entrance
flying low over the wet woods
calling from south of the wet woods.
