I shot this into the sun so I convinced myself it was just a Nashville till I got home and saw the full colouring. Is it a Mourning Warbler?
I saw it for very much less than 1 second before it vanished into the undergrowth. I did not see it again although I was in the same area for another hour.

An experienced birder tells me it is a Mourning. It was seen as the photo file name says at 11:11 a.m. this morning at Lakeside Park in Mississauga. I was beside the drainage ditch/creek at the west side of the park, near the overflow parking lot at the Lakeshore Rd end of the stream (not the Lake Ontario end).

Most birds pass through this area very quickly. It is unusual for them to stay because it is a very degraded environment. When I saw the bird, it was near the end of the route from the Lake moving inland, which suggests it too was on its way out. Personally, I would not bother going out to look for it again (even though I live fairly close by) because I think it will be long gone, likely moving up Joshuas Creek or less likely up Sheridan Creek.

If you visit this area please be aware that TICKS are LIKELY! I have seen all types of mammals in this area including white tailed deer and rats. Be very cautious because Lyme disease is in the ticks in Mississauga.
