This evening there was a singing Worm-eating Warbler at Parklawn Cemetery.  It was in Section S (please see map in attached link) about 100m directly south of the Mausoleum.  I saw the bird fly off of the ground into a tree but was not able to see it again although it kept singing.  It sang about eight times (if an insect like buzz could be called a song) around 6:45 pm. then again briefly around 7:15.  I will see if it is still around again tomorrow morning before I leave for work.

Wow that's some bird.  Have you submitted to ebird?  Do you have pictures?

I don't post to eBird.  I will submit this record to the Toronto compiler of NA Birds.  I would have posted to Ont Birds but am temporarily unsubscribed due to all the Point Pelee postings.  I didn't bring my camera so no pics although it would have been challenging to take one.

I will give my name - ask around the Toronto Birding community and you will find out my credentials.

Oh no I wasn't doubting your credentials, I was honestly just curious.  That's a great find.  Do you want me to post it to Ontbirds for you?

Hi,

You could post, thanks.  I couldn't go and check it out this morning but would be nice if someone else could try to refind it.  It is probably still there with the overcast and cool overnight conditions.  There is unfortunately construction in the area.

I was there for about a half hour this morning. I walked the east edges of P, Q and S sections. I did not see or hear the bird.

I went there also, but did not arrive until 11am.  Found a decent variety of expected warbler species.  Was surprised to see an eastern bluebird (Section K).  Lots of ravine slope next to this cemetery for a WEWA to disappear into.
