yellow-billed cuckoo, Mt. Pleasant Cem.

I heard a very quiet k-k-k-k-k kuk out the window and thought it could be a cuckoo.  I quickly biked around into the cemetery and found a lovely yellow-billed cuckoo.  It continues to make occasional quiet calls but is mostly quiet and hunting/feeding.  Not sure if anyone else could find it, but it is right along the wall at approx. the edge of Plot 6/Plot 8, this is west of Mt. Pleasant Rd., south side of cemetery.

This species is a late migrant, there will be others out there, too!

i believe the bird i saw was a flycatcher....i heard a song (and observed the "flycatcher" singing the song) that i thought originally was a goldfinch song -- kinda whinnie -- but also, it did sound like "drink-your-tea" in a whinnie voice".... pics...

I was off computers yesterday ...

Looks like your flycatcher is eastern wood-pewee.

Cuckoo may be gone by now but only other is suggestion is to pay attention to tent caterpillars, and my kids told me there is a bit of an infestation of some shrubs in the northeastern part of the western half of the cemetery, i.e. along the west side of Mt. Pleasant Rd.
