Visited Downsview Park on September 25. I saw an adult Bald Eagle fly over at 12:55 pm. It was very high up. A lone Turkey Vulture flew over the park, too. There were also three immature Red-tailed Hawks, which seemed to be local birds, because they seemed to return to favourite perches. They were chasing and diving at each other. Very cool to see. It didn't thrill the Blue Jays, which were migrating through the park. A hawk would dive, the jays would scream and hide in the bushes.

Other interesting birds were:
a softly singing Northern Mockingbird
1 Yellow-rumped Warbler
2 Palm Warblers
1 Ruby-crowned Kinglet.

I was there in the afternoon and saw a Northern Harrier and a Cooper's flying around in search of food. I also saw an Eastern Phoebe, Magnolia Warbler, White-throated and White Crowned sparrows. As I arrived at the parking lot on my way out I saw a couple throwing pizza crumbs to this hopping Magnolia Warbler (am I right?). Of course he ignored it and eventually made it to a bushy area. Not sure what its injury was. Hope it survived.
