Hey..

I spotted a Common Redpoll this evening at my feeders.

I thought that they had moved on.  Still Cool..  It was receptive to my imitated goldfinch call when they are near the feeder..

Napper :D

ps.. added to photo area .. not great but oh well

I still have about 6 common redpolls everyday and a few pine siskins mixed in with the goldfinches.

.

Apparently, my Redpolls never got the memo either

This shot doesn't include the 30 plus on the ground below

P.S.  There's one renegade Goldfinch in there

I hadn't seen a Redpoll all day, and thought they had finally moved on, but late this afternoon, two showed up at the Nyger seed.  Does that mean it's still winter?

There are lots of signs of spring at the feeders though:  Grackles doing contortions to get into the tube feeder and the Goldfinches are yellower every day.  Lots of Juncos and a few Song Sparrows are coming for spilled seed.

I think the Redpolls may finally have moved on.  I haven't seen one since last Sunday or Monday, and the niger seed has been moving very slowly all week.

On the bright side, a Hermit Thrush, a White-throated Sparrow, and a Fox Sparrow have joined the flock of Juncos eating spilled seed under my feeders.
