Red-bellied Woodpecker, Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, Downy Woodpecker, Hairy Woodpecker, Northern Flicker

Very nice.  That's pretty much the most you could see in one outing unless you're really lucky and get a Red-headed or Pileated Woodpecker.

A local resident who was walking in the park said that she had heard a Pileated near her house just recently.  We'll keep our fingers crossed for another big woodpecker day.

I saw a Pileated Woodpecker yesterday evening when I was jogging through a ravine in Rosedale NW of Glen Rd bridge.Once I walked along the waterfront from the water filtration building(at the end of Queen St) to the Scarborough Bluffs and up the steep road east of Rosetta McClain to the Gardens. It was an interesting walk but I didn't see much wildlife  and to get past the water filtration building I had to wade through a couple feet of water.

Species: 97

It's been awhile since my last report, I've been busy birding!

Over the past several days there have been a lot of wonderful birds passing through, over, beside, and below the park.  During this time a total of 97 species have been observed.  As everyone has witnessed, migration this year has not been the best, we've either totally missed several species or they're still yet to arrive.  Time will tell.

A few highlights...
Great Egret, Ruby-throated Hummingbird, Eastern Kingbird, 19 species of Warblers including Canada, Wilson's and a 'new for the park' Hooded Warbler, Scarlet Tanager, Indigo Bunting, and an unidentified Crossbill (pos. Red) which was only briefly seen and heard by myself and another birder.

This small garden park is situated atop the Scarborough Bluffs and is one stoplight east of the intersection of Kingston Road and Birchmount Road in Toronto's east end.

Good birding,
Walter Fisher :)
