Shortly after 1:00 this afternoon, I saw a Wild Turkey on the shoreline right in front of the lighthouse. It was scavenging picnic remnants next to a firepit. This is a new Spit bird for me; I assume it flew over from Toronto Islands.
Another notable sighting was a white coyote on the road that goes east from the Triangle Pond to the Endikement. It trotted along in plain sight for awhile and then veered into the tall grass next to Cell 3. About, oh, three seconds later, a rabbit poppped out, and I mean it was flying. I don't think its feet touched the ground once in crossing the road. Never did see the coyote again. He must've known he wasn't gonna win that race.
