Looks more like a Greater Yellowlegs to me.

No problem, just realized these are 2 different birds.  The first one is a closer candidate for Lesser, in fact I think it is.  Second pic is definitely a Greater.  Did you ever see them side-by-side?  That's a good way to be sure.

That's interesting.  I assumed that they were a male and female of the same species--I noticed that one had a rounder body.  Now that I look at this picture of the two side by side, it looks like the beaks may differ!

they're both greater...the lesser is quite a bit smaller which should be obvious in the second picture if they were greater and lesser
