AS noted in another post last Friday, I thought my SX50 was dead, but I had to pass by Sun Camera on another errand and since estimates are free I decided (without much hope for a good outcome?) to drop it off. I called a couple of days later and was told that only a few small parts needed replacement and the total estimate was a little over one hundred dollars! I thought about it for a few seconds(!) and told them to go ahead and fix it. Btw, I passed on the SX60 and I'm still hoping for an upgrade from Canon though I'm not holding my breath waiting - if something good is announced (it doesn't have to be from Canon) I'll go for it and keep the SX50 as backup. I hope to get it back while my hummingbirds are still around but it's going to be close! :)

hi howieh,

i had trouble with my sx50 as well....the scroll wheel at the back was not functioning properly.  Sun Camera fixed the issue for less than $100.  works great now!
