Nice collection to remind us of summer.
I'm not sure if 'marsh marigold' is a local nickname at Amos Swamp for another plant or ??, but those are not the plant Caltha palustris that most Ontarians call Marsh Marigold.

Is this an example of Caltha palustris - Marsh Marigold?

Yes, typical 5 fleshy sepals, large fleshy round or heart-shaped leaves, thick stems.
A good online source to compare ON wildflowers is Andy's site at
http://www.ontariowildflower.com/lakeedge.htm#marshmar
There is a lot of variability in common names, I've noticed, in different parts of the province the same name can be used for 2 different plants.

Thanks for the tip. I'm clearly not an expert on wildflowers,
or insect,
or amphibians,
or even birds. But I'm learning.
I've been known to make a great omelette though, but even there,
to be viewed as an expert is a bit pretentious.
