Cedar waxwings and friends

This was Waxwing day in my yard. There was competition for the last berries and strangely for one of our birdbaths. If they couldn't get in the bath they lined up on the tree over it and then dropped in.




Look out below!

I can't stop looking at the second photo, because the lower one is so cute, he looks like a penguin, and the higher one looks like he has that twig on his beak.

and just seconds away from resigning its commission in a fit of shear exasperation.

Actually I think they were waiting for the percussion section which was waiting " in the wings"

This was the prior shot to number 2 and they were either in a beaklock or passing a berry so probably not both males, Ally.

Hi Aviator, thanks for telling me. I saw a bunch of European starlings today by Danville Park. They are huge birds!
