A star for you indeed.
You have played this game before and are
quite likely already a whole constellation.

I'm delighted that so many of you have ventured an opinion on this mystery BIRD PORTRAITS
thread. The level of skill is so high among most of you that I suffer to uncover a photo snippet
worthy of your collective talents. I shall endeavour to post a few more offerings and let this
game (of sorts) wind down by the end of the year, including perhaps one more commentary
in the form of a topic thread in early December. I had hoped that other members with greater
photographic experience would have taken my cue and proposed their own threads with commensurate
topical commentary, but for my part, I've contributed what little I could device to revitalize this forum
and admit to be pleased with the recent uptick of interest.

Now, to respond to your guesses I see correct ID's to validate for Mike, November and Oscar .
Mike is a Common Redpoll
November is a Downy Woodpecker
Oscar is a (male) Rose-breasted Grosbeak
There is no fooling the pro's.

Full photo of each is posted in the Bird Photography section.

Papa is not a killdeer, but it is a male.
I've expanded the image to help.
