I dropped by Downsview Park this afternoon. After last two years of not seeing one, it was great to see a Snowy Owl back in the Park. This is where I saw my first Snowy Owl on Jan 18, 2014 - so it holds a special spot in my heart.

Thank you. I will go try to look for it tomorrow morning. I haven't been to Downsview Park before, nor have I seen a snowy. Any more specific directions, please?? Thanks a lot!

Ally, park your car close to the newly created children's corner and walk along the paved circuit road along the eastern side away from Keele street. I, together with another person, found it sitting on one of those lamp posts, looking for its next meal. As we waited, unfortunately a couple came by with their lease free dog and forced it off the perch. So, if you see the bird, keep your distance and watch the spectacle unfold. Good luck.

Hi, as of this moment 11:12am, the snowy is still perching on the fence by the hill in Downsview park. If you walk up along side the railway, you will see it. I kept my distance,  a mockingbird on the otherhand, was harrassing it. My first snowy, so excited!!

I looked at photos again, the one did the harrassing might be a northern shrike. Will post photos on ID section after I fix the size. Thanks,

Congratulations. The Shrike might be continuing from last year, last time I saw it was back in Nov. There's also a pair of Mocking bird in the park together with a pair of Kestrel and a Merlin.
