Thouc's post encouraged me to post photos of few birds that I managed to see during my two week trip to India in Dec 2017. This was mainly a social visit. However, I did manage to get out and see some birds as well. I managed to see 17 lifers, my first birding trip back in 2014 produced 76 lifers. Since I visited the same area, I got to see very much the same birds as last time. Here are some novelties.

1. Black Headed Ibis - a life bird

2. Asian Openbill Stork

3.Pied Kingfisher - a lifer. There are about 12 different kingfishers seen in the area I visited, I managed to see four.

4. Stork-billed Kingfisher - a lifer

5. Red-wattled Lapwing - a lifer.

6. Siberian Stonechat - a lifer

7. Red-whiskered Bulbul

8. Coppersmith Barbet

9. Spotted Dove

10. Indian Golden Oriole - a lifer.

That's some cool birds you got. And 17 lifers is pretty good on a return visit... Never mind 76 on the first visit!

Haha, that's challenging for seasoned birders.  A second year birder like me, I get lifers just by stepping out my door. Lol :)

So true - my first 18 Ontario lifers came from my backyard, the first one in my life list is a Mourning Dove :D  My third year into birding was most prolific - I had 103 Ontario life birds added in one year, since then it gets tougher but the fun never wanes.

I started my birding in Pelee last year, my friend told me we saw over 70 different birds. I wasn't even aware I was looking at some of them. I just mimicked other birders and pointed my binoculars at that direction. Oh, did I mention I didn't know how to adjust my binoculars? I described to other birders that I saw a bird, with red head and black waves in the back. They got me. Those were fun times :D
