Nice image. Where was it taken? I was shooting butterflies at TBG last week and got several shots of a clearwing hummingbird moth at the beebalm adjacent to the handicap parking near the main building. The cone flowers are finally in full bloom and the butterflies are slowly finding them. Monarchs, red admirals, sulphurs, skippers, duskywings and hairstreaks can now be found all over the gardens. On a side note, I have a milkweed patch on my front lawn and have watched several monarchs nectaring and ovipositing. I found one tiny caterpillar (got macro shots with my SX50 - still an amazing camera such as it is!) and some eggs but within a few days they all disappeared. Do milkweed bugs or (more likely?) black ants feed on them?
