1) Toronto suburbs
2) Rust-coloured cap (male only)
3) White rump
4) Mostly brown
5) Larger than a robin, maybe the size of a small crow
6) Unless it was just drinking water, seemed to "hunt" like a robin, i.e. searching for grubs/worms on or in the ground.
6) Really "weird" call, which identified to me that it was not a bird I had heard or seen before. It was quite "vocal", but not a "pretty" song. Not as
guttural as a raven's Croak, but lying more in that direction than a song-bird.
Any ideas?
