A pair of Ross's Goose taken up temporary residence in Collingwood Harbor - it has been there for three or so weeks already and given easy access to food (yes people are spreading corns on ice) they may stick around longer. The warm water from the nearby treatment plant created an opening for many species of water fowls to congregate including three Northern Pintail. My first sightings of Ross's Goose was back in 2014 in Reesor Pond in Markham. They were with four Snow Goose (Two white and two blue form). However, they were quite a distance away from the shoreline, This Collingwood pair provided an excellent opportunity to better my initial ID photos. They appear to be tame and one appears to be slightly smaller than the other (may be a male and a female pair). The smart ones are wintering in California; somehow this pair (dumb and dumber) showed up here. In reality more and more are seen in the east every winter; California might be getting too hot for these High Arctic birds.

Snow Goose from Reesor Pond in Dec of 2014.
