Hey if Carden is far... and it is a good couple of hours from Mississauga, Hamilton/Stoney Creek is half that time. I wasn't looking for this guy but he was on a wire as I drove down the road looking for the Dofasco Trail. I say this because, this is a super good birding area that is about an hour from Toronto and has some grassy-shrubby habitat. This winter they had Northern Shrike, SE Owl, Peregrines, Harriers... lots of good stuff. I went looking for Virginia Rail and Sora which was recently reported plus Beamer isn't too far either. Give it a shot. This guy wasn't hiding. I saw him, slowed, turned the car around, creeped up and got that shot. He never stopped singing until a dump truck went by.
But if you have time, definitely go to Carden, it is bigger and less busy... at least less dump trucks!
