We made a family trek to Point Pelee last week -- early for migration but I was hoping to see a few warblers and perhaps a scarlet tanager...not so lucky BUT...I did see a pair of pelicans and a sanderling. Lots of RWB's though....would they have started the migration already b/c I've never seen so many...however the marsh there is huge.
For entertainment, I came across an extremely competitive birder on a trail -- dressed in khakis, safari shirt, NASA approved binoculars...and a hat reminiscent of marlin Perkins -- I asked if he had seen anything and he says nonchalantly "Yes, I saw 15 species of warblers together in a tree" So I told him I saw a snowy.
