January 1,2020....first birding session of the decade, Lynde shore (Halls Road), Whitby ...just as we were leaving for the day spotted a herd of about ten deer. On lone male deer.

I recall often seeing deer at the southeastern corner of the field east of Hall's Rd.
or more scattered in the field on the west side of the road. Once there were so
many deer on the west side that it was hard to get a photo. No framing scheme
quite matched what the eye saw. I love the pinkish-yellow light ... like a dream
scene.

Great shots! I love that he's calling out in first pic

Wait....what? Jan 1? No snow?

Anyone know when they drop their rack?

Yes....I lucked out getting the sunset light from the west. Most of my previous deer shots had flat lighting or was overcast.

I'm not sure....I don't know much about deer, just that they are great to photograph. I hope somebody can answer that question. I'd like to know too.
