Spirit Hawk

On Saturday (Feb 8, 2020) I drove to Brantford and spent about an hour and half on Birkett Lane Trail. I went to look for an all white Red-tailed Hawk that has been reported earlier. As soon I arrived at the location, the hawk was immediately spotted sitting on a tree far away, sticking out like a sore thumb - it was that obvious. An all white Red-tailed hawk is highly revered among Canada's original people - it is considered a spirit animal or a spirit hawk. The hawk is very skittish and because of its all white feathers it is hard to focus on. I managed to get a few decent photos. As a comparison I posted a normal adult Red-tailed Hawk at the end - the difference is amazing.

It's certainly breath-taking. Who would have imagined that Brampton could be breath-taking.
It must feel right at home here in winter. Simply stunning!

Oh my God, that is gorgeous. I wonder whether it's still there.
