Canada geese are ubiquitous and therefore often overlooked. The trick, I think, is to find them
in unusual locations, in large numbers, or interacting with other wildlife in interesting ways. Unlike
many other birds where the object is to get as close as possible in order to capture detail, geese
can be photographed at a distance and still be worthwhile subjects. One of my favourite shots was
taken at the mouth of the Rouge, shot at ground level at sunrise, a shot I call "Guardians of the Dawn".
