After a late supper here I am looking out the back door with dog into the Gloomy rainy late afternoon. Nothing special a couple of Robins and few Chickadee dee dee's.
Wait what is that? I have forgotten how well Hermit Thrushes blend into the background even in a back yard.
I took a few snaps while holding the dog behind me. The Thrush was there for about ten minutes.
We had a late supper because we were at the beach overnight, this time with some muscle to deal with the heavy things that needed to be moved. This morning I was awakened by the sound of a Red Headed Wood Pecker. I spent a better part of two hours carrying my camera around before lunch because I missed an Eastern Phoebe on the fence 30 feet away. It was near 18 Deg C on the deck in the shade before we left for home.
Yesterday in the early evening a Merlin appeared in the tree tops of across the street they have a very distinct call, it is good to see them back. This morning we had a group Warblers in the tree above the house but the lighting was impossible. Now I have a sore neck.
Will post images of Hairy WP from beach and Thrush. I was really messing with the settings and the lens I have currently is old and not very sharp just like me
