Clay-colored Sparrow?

From today in North York. My first inclination was a Chipping Sparrow but Merlin's ID of both views is a clay-colored sparrow. It's rare enough that I'd appreciate an expert opinion.

It's not a Chipping sparrow.
Looks like a Clay-coloured to me, although I must admit
that I've never actually seen one myself. I've led a sheltered
like. I have seen a clay-coloured pot a couple of times.
I don't remember the details. It wasn't memorable.
