Went for the Saw-whet owl, fell once, two of us, spent three hours,, went through forty trees
Quite a number of American Wigeons, one was teaching Yoga.

So surprised to come upon a group of Yellow-rumped warblers. Must be half of a dozen of them chatting and foraging together.

Saw one birder who used to lead the bird walk, and I got to see my first ever Northern Saw-whet Owl. I would not have found it by myself. It was perched in the area I looked first when we arrived the park.

Congratulations on your first Saw-Whet owl find. I've never seen one. They are so small and so well-concealed that finding one in a tree isquite difficult, even when you know it is there ... somewhere. That is a really nice isolated perch shot of the juvenile Myrtle warbler. What West-end park was that you visited?

I can send you a private message if you want. I posted the name of the park at first, then changed. I was advised not to tell a lot of people the whereabouts of the owls. And also, I actually tried to send you private messages before, but couldn't send.

That's OK, if you were advised not to reveal the site then it was probably a directiongiven by someone that understands the turmoil that can ensue when word gets around. It is a shame that info cannot be safely shared on a site such as this without risking
repercussions for the wildlife. The members of this forum are not likely the source risk
but there are those satellite visitors some of which might be dem marauders that'er
in search of plunder .... ahrrr. Ally the wise, Ally the cautious. Long live the Saw-Whet!
