NEW FLASH!  .... Ally has discovered Owl Alley.... from Ally's alchemy.A dollop of the right place with a pinch of the right time... stirred gently with the right lens and .... presto,pure Gold!
What's that I hear, in the distance and getting louder.A chorus, I'm sure of it. Cheer leaders?

Congrats on the pix.  I love how long-eared owls always look somewhat shocked that you are looking at them.

Haha, Yes. When I shared the pic with my other friends,  who are not birders. I actually added: That is what he looks like, I did not scare him.

I like the contrast between owl#1 and owl#2. The first one looks very rounded and visually challenged with empty eyes while the second has an angular alert appearance with very prominent eyes.The third bird looks like a real sweety-pie.Thanks for posting!

Glad that you found the Long-eared Owl in the open - they prefer to snooze during the day well hidden. Someone once told me that they take this elongated posture when scared - don't know how much truth in that statement. Anyway, Owl#2 will avoid Owl#1 by all means.

It was funny, when I found the LEO, the Barred Owl was snoozing. They are not that far apart.
