The Rough-legged Hawk was still there and friendly. So were the RTHs.

Rapture in Raptorville. Nicely done! Terrific down-to-earth capture of the RLH.

Ally, great captures!

I often think that I am due to visit the park, but haven't been there for ages.

Oh, please do. Maybe we can meet there on Wednesday. I was thinking about the succulents this morning.  ;)

Ally, I am thinking about going there tomorrow. Are you up to it? :)

You can get the succulents anytime!

Ah, … Ally and Charline working together at Downsview Park, soon to become the Dynamic Duo, I’m sure. What’s next? Maybe Dinu and Charline? First AC and then DC! The results could be shocking.  They all know how to post pics on their PC, so UC we should soon anticipate some eye candy on this forum. For those teams of birders results should be EC and that’s the way IC it.

All the birders there ... how many were there? Is it really that busy there because of the LEO and RLH?

Not that many actually, I have to confess. About 20 in total. And she was asking me where to find the pond, then she said: Are you Ally? (I used to ask people whether they are the Shortsighted on the forum, remember? ;) ;) )
Words got spreaded about the short eared owls and a shrike. RLH was not seen today. Shorteared was spotted in the morning then got spooked.

20 photographers or twenty birders in general? Downsview Park is very large and could easily distribute 20 birders to scarcity but I imagine that all twenty people were concentrated into the small woodlot looking for owls. Who can expect otherwise, I suppose, when owls are so difficult to find. Still, even if I could venture out, but I assuredly cannot, the magnetic field created by so many birders at one site would deter me completely. Birding by committee is not my cup of tea and I would unreservedly forego a shot of an owl to avoid crowds. Hiking, fishing, birding, photography are all endeavours that put you at 'one' with your environment and three's a crowd. I'm pleased that you got some photos of the LEO and in time your persistence will reward you with a SEO too.

AC/DC - Shortshighted cracked me up. By the way I met up with Ally once in Downsview Park too - it is quickly becoming a meeting hotspot and not just a birding hotspot. By the way, there's a Snowy Owl reported seen there on the 20th.
