I did not go bird-watching, this one came to visit. Walked right into my yard while I in class.

The deer also came last night, and he left evidence.  I have a photo of what the plant looked like on Mar 11.( Top left)

Lucky you!  I've never seen a Wild Turkey but apparently some have been sighted here in Mississauga.

Oops!  Deer always seem to eat people's favourite flowers/plants!

My husband feeds the turkeys all winter long.  These days they show up almost at first light.  We are on the Credit river in southwest Caledon.  They roost across the river in the woods.  You can hear them when they are stirring, squacking and carrying on!!!  There has been up to 50!!!  The Toms are strutting their stuff and the other day we had some practise of making little turkeys!!!!  Many people think they are ugly but get a Tom captured in the right sunlight, they are very pretty!!!

It was so funny, because we were talking about crossing boundries during class when this one casually walks by.

Tom means boy? I saw a hen with some chicks in my trail once, cutest of all.

When my kid was a toddler I'd take her hiking through our trails and when we'd come across deer droppings I'd tell her it was a deer inukshuk...and they left them to let us know they were there....well she was in kindergarten in 2010...sigh....her teacher asked the class if anyone knew what an inukshuk was...no one put up their hands...but my shy little girl did....and proudly said, "deer poo poo"....sigh....I asked my kid what the teacher said and she imitated the teacher screwing up her face and said , "no not quite" lol....

That is a super funny story. And the last time I saw it was when I found it roosting in the tree on Oct 25th. In between the thankgivings both sides of the boarders.

They hang out year round here....I have a small orchard and leave the apples for the deer and turkey
