Big clean up day here, lots of Oak leaves on the ground. Oaks here tend to retain their leaves until the first snow in late November or even later.  Lots of dead fall from the trees as well.
We had an Eastern Phoebe calling from the trees behind the house this afternoon. While we were about to start our BBQ a Pileated showed up next door stayed for more than 1/2 an hour banging away at a tree that had been cut many years ago. That yard is not kept up so the brush was quite thick.

If acorns were of any value I might be rolling in Dough - Doh
