Hope everybody's birding activity is slowly picking up with the onset of Spring. I was away for a while, busy with work and a 10 day trip to India to take care of some family matters. Yesterday a friend sent me a note around dinner time alerting me of a 'beautiful bird' in a storm water pond in Markham. I went to check it out and was surprised to see a Snowy Egret sitting on rocks in the middle of the pond in Milton Fierheller Park. It was 7:18 PM and I managed to take some photos before it flew away for night's roost somewhere. This morning it apparently returned back to the same pond. So, if you haven't seen one in Ontario, this is the opportunity.
