My feeder has been out for a couple of weeks now without much visitation except for the odd cardinal, junco or chickadee. Since the recent rainy/snowy weather arrived there has been a considerable uptick in the number of visitors. Instead of one or two chickadees there may be a dozen of them at once. Both Downy and Hairy woodpeckers have visited. Even a female Red-bellied WP landed on the feeder a couple of times. I placed a suet cage near the seed stash but then finally hung it above the plastic feeder. Have not yet seen any finches yet. I mounted a branch next to the feeder to get some perching shots.
