It was quiet. The warblers wouldn't let me get away with oversleep any more. Arrived at around 9, nothing in the big bowl.
Got some flycatchers, including an Olivesided.

Some vireos were active, and the redstart tried to dominate gnatcatcher. So hard to see in the willow, let alone photographing it.

Love the wood duck family. And I found a water thrush all by myself.  8)

That's a fine mornings work. I wish Pickering had a Sam Smith park. Nothing around here comes close to CSSP in abundance and variety, but then the west end of the GTA was always better than the east end. Keep it up!

Your photos beg to differ!! I have yet to find a Prairie warbler.

Well, my dear, I wasn't under the impression that it was a contest. You will eventually see and photograph a Prairie warbler, much as you will also at some point find even rarer species because you are steadfast and persistent. I previously had only a fleeting glance at a Prairie warbler while everyone else was photographing one with elan. I knew it was only a matter of time before I too would get a shot, although there was some concern that my camera would give out before the event. Who knows how long it will be before I see another one.
Oh look, ... another one ...

hahaha, good! How encouraging! I met a birder when photographing the olivesided, he said it's been here every evening. And I said, I was here last night and didn't see it. He went, the birds don't wait for people. He was not very encouraging. :P
