Tonight is the first full moon for 2024, the Full Wolf Moon.  Supposed to rain tonight and overnight though so probably won't see it, need clear skies.  Apparently if you have wolves in your area, they will be howling tonight!  Would be really cool to hear and perhaps even see!  8)

Wolves? Not so much. Coyotes ... definitely! Don't need a full moon around here to set them off, just need a train horn ... they go nuts. Heck, even I've been known to howl, especially when I get the property tax bill.

I heard a Pileated woodpecker again today ... heard it three times if you ignore the last call, which was rather pathetic. Also saw FOY Brown Creeper.

One of my favourite birds. They are very cute and super active!  Last time I saw one out here was 2 years ago at Kariya Park.   :)

I wonder if anyone heard wolves howling or coyotes yipping last night?   Full moons also seem to affect people and technology.  Anyone else notice their cell phone, computer, radio or TV will act up? Also seem to receive a lot of spam emails.  Neighbours decided last night was a good night to have blaring loud music playing and it sounded like some sort of heavy metal music!  :o

Radio reception stinks anyway. I can barely tune-in CBC FM. If I do manage to get it, all I need to do is cough while close to the dial and it will drift. I don't listen to robust commercial radio signals because of the assault that a commercial message signals. Don't watch cable TV anymore either ... had it disconnected for the same reason. I figured that if I hear one more lottery-type advertisement I would go ballistic. Heavy metal and music is an oxymoron. If I wanted to listen to the presses in a foundry, or the mechanical noise of a factory I would move next to one. I doubt that your neighbours plays it loud everyday. Sometimes loud music is deployed to mask other alarming noises, so I would check for blood trails on the driveway. You never know.

This was definitely a one off as they are usually quiet and polite.  Now that you mention it, there was a lot of loud screaming and swearing happening.  I just figured it was the bad "music" they were listening to.  Saw them out walking their dog this morning in the rain so they are alive.
