I am  watching a Formula 1 practice from Suzuka , yep it is 02:30 and I am seeing Barn Swallows zipping around  a pond on the circuit.
Formula 1, Suzuka, Japan.
Too bad it it is raining on the track at the moment, Cherry blossoms are cool to see.
Meanwhile here we have light snow

On the OFO website page that reports sightings around Ontario, comes from Ebird, BS have been reported along the lakes.  Warned my friend they are on their way, as they nest in her barn.  Have upwards of 10 nest or more!!!!
Heading to Japan in August so will keep an eye out for them!!!!!

I have been here in Japan for almost 3 weeks and have seen Barn Swallows in several places.  Saw a nest in Nikko, babies looked like they were about to fledge.  Just finishing up the first leg of a 24 day Intrepid trip.  Birding has not been very good, only got 17 species, 7 lifers with the possibility that 2 have been seen before.  Rode several bullet trains, fastest 290k.

Cool!
My Daughter and her husband are touring Japan Mid October returning early November. They have no interest in birding but I'll ask here to take as many pics as she can.
Back at the Beach, looks likes much needed rain tonight.

I hope your daughter and husband enjoy their trip. We did.  I only got 44 species and 19 lifers.  I bird wherever we are.  It was a good trip, unfortunately we ended about a month earlier then we intended but still saw alot of Japan.
