Stuck on this bird from the Carden Plain, leaning towards juv Mockingbird but did not see tail. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Peter,
This looks like a young Starling to me. That straight bill and the uniform gray/brown are good indicators. A Mockingbird would be showing the pale gray/white breast typical of adult Mockingbirds but with some speckling.
