At no time that I was in the Rouge was it flowing slowly but the tempo of the birding was slow. I decided to visit water (pond) for a change. I staked-out a good kingfisher perch. I was sitting on a collapsible stool and under a camo cover, which restricted by angle of view. I spotted a Wood duck way up on a tree and eight of them landed in the pond some time afterwards but I couldn't easily turn to greet them with glass. A female Hooded merganser did the same. The only birds that utilized my chosen perch was a Grackle and a female Tree swallow.

I then went over to the Beare Wetland and found conditions had become very windy. A walk around the upper pond revealed a Yellow warbler, a White-crowned sparrow and a Yellow-bellied flycatcher. An Eastern kingbird also showed up but I didn't get a picture of it.
